For the past 20 years, a core piece of Chris McNesby’s financial planning practice has been partnering with the heroes of the greater Philadelphia area to assist them in their financial planning needs. Working with those who give of themselves on a daily basis has always been of particular importance to Chris. His father, Jim McNesby, is a retired police officer and veteran of the United States Marine Corps. What has been most rewarding for Chris, who is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER, is the evolution of his practice over the years around the entire “Hero community”. He also contributes to shared charitable missions and voluntary efforts within those communities. In November of 2019, Chris brought his unique “Heroes” prospective and expertise to PWA Financial, and under Chris’s leadership we are proud to announce the launch of Planning4Heroes.
"I have been fortunate to have Chris McNesby as my financial advisor for 20 years. He is always there to advise and gets back to you in a timely manner. Many of my closest friends indicate to me that without Chris they would be lost and probably made bad decisions. Chris is family to all of us and we would follow him wherever he goes."
- Retired Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector James Tiano
I retired as a captain with 33 years of service in the Philadelphia Police Department. I didn't know anything about investments or financial investors but I did know that I had a large chunk of money from the Deferred Retirement Option Program sitting in my bank account. I was looking for someone I could trust to handle my finances. A family friend recommended Chris McNesby. I was told that his dad was a retired homicide detective who started his career in the 26th District, as I did. We met and we hit it off from the get go. I told him what my exceptions were and he told me he could meet them. There was no pressure on his part. Any questions I have are answered immediately or Chris will research the question and get back to me in a timely fashion with an answer. He is a straight forward, honest guy. If you choose Chris you will get a professional, hard-working and honest person who has your best interests at heart.
-Retired Philadelphia Police Captain, Bill Markert
I am retired Philadelphia Fire Fighter and have been with Chris for over 17 years and he has always kept me informed about what was going on and to get approval for any changes he recommended. I have always been satisfied with his advice and recommendations. I would recommend him to anyone in the Fire Department.
- Retired Philadelphia Firemen, Jack Cerrulli
Six months prior to his retirement, a Philadelphia police officer suffered an unexpected stroke in 2017. Chris consulted with the officer and his family to develop a comprehensive financial plan by reviewing his pension documents, deferred compensation investment allocation, medical and terminal leave options. At the time, the officer and his family were unaware of all of the available options and what would be in their best interest. Chris attended the officer’s retirement pension meeting to make sure all elections were made properly, not only to benefit the officer now but also to protect his family in the future. Subsequently, Chris helped the family build a financial and estate plan with the assistance of a local estate planning attorney and he coordinated with local real estate professionals and the family to downsize to meet the medical needs of the officer and his family. Additionally, Chris remains an acting fiduciary over their investment assets for retirement.
